16 Aug The early bird gets the gains: 5 benefits of training first thing in the morning
Burn more fat
Getting up and training before eating breakfast will mean your body will have to use its fat reserves to fuel your workout. When you train on a full stomach, your body will use the most available fuel source (your last meal) before switching to your fat stores. Train your body to become a morning fat burning machine before breakfast. If you need some extra energy, drink a strong black coffee or another 0kcal caffeine source.
Be fully awake and energised for work
After smashing a morning workout, you’ll feel energised and ready to take on the day. Also, you’ve already achieved something before you’ve even set foot in the office, well done!
Get back some of your working week
By using the otherwise dead morning hours, you’ve claimed back valuable hours in your day. If you had been going to the gym after work- congratulations, you’ve now got your evenings back. Training early in the morning also means you’re less likely to skip the gym because of a last minute work or social engagement.
The gym is A LOT quieter
Trying to use the gym in peak hours (lunchtime, after work) means that often the equipment you need for your exercise is taken. So is your alternative. And your alternative’s alternative. Your workout loses it’s momentum and inevitably you don’t train as hard or enjoy your workout to nearly the same degree.
Smug facebook posturing
You can totally use Facebook again for it’s original purpose- showing off. Let everyone on your friends list know that you were up early and training whilst they were still tucked up in bed.
